Abstract— This research investigates the optimization of tensile performance in Carbidic Austempered Ductile Iron (CADI) via systematic isothermal control. CADI offers a unique microstructural equilibrium, embedding stable primary carbides within a high-strength ausferritic matrix. This study evaluates the mechanical response across varying austempering temperatures (375∘C, 400∘C, and 425∘C). Utilizing Taguchi’s L9 orthogonal array and ANOVA, we determine that tensile integrity is predominantly governed by the isothermal temperature, which dictates the refinement of acicular ferrite. Experimental results reveal a peak Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) of 505.6 MPa at 375∘C, offering a 20% enhancement over the as-cast baseline.
