Abstract: The present study aims to explore the relationship between Psychological Capital (PsyCap) and Counseling Self-Efficacy (CSE) among counselors practicing in India. The study uses a quantitative approach and descriptive method. Data was collected from 141 counselors using the 12 items Psychological Capital Questionnaire Self-Rater Short Form (PCQ-12) to measure PsyCap and Counselor Activity Self Efficacy Scales (CASES) to measure CSE. Relationship between Global score for CASES and facet score for PsyCap on Hope, Efficacy, Resilience and Optimism was analyzed using SPSS. Stepwise regression analysis revealed that Efficacy and Optimism significantly predicted CSE. It can be concluded that PsyCap is an essential element of counselors’ functionality at work with regard to their CSE development. The study has practical implications on training and education of psychological counselors for enhanced PsyCap which can contribute to their CSE growth.
